From the ashes a fire shall be awoken

Woohoo finally two days of shows are done for good. Can put my mind off it now after learning 892173823 number of choreographies, and focus on what's ahead : Sange Murange, a NUS tamil society production. Why I'm in? Well, I'm just serving my indian counterpart community. That is all.

The Asian University Canoe Championship today was enlightening, seeing how people are brought together from different countries despite the communication barrier. When will we actually see the nations bonding up together? Every single place is either corrupted by politics, poverty, or calamities. These negative images are bounding us from connecting to them. Plus, the media isn't too keen on providing on the positives of other countries. Middle easterns is always equal to suicide bombers. Chinese = Replica masters. Malays or anything darker = Snatch theifs, Mat rempit. Racial profiling at its best. Bah

Our "nobody but chu" was not so unfamiliar after all, after seeing one of the koreans dancing the original choreo with us throughout the whole performance! Anyhoo, I'm glad that the crowd enjoyed the show as much as we did. Putting smiles on faces never felt as good as Borat giving Letterman a high five. WTH?

Orange Ribbon Day is fresh compared to the shows I've done so far. The fun part that its actually a musical so we have to include both acting and dancing into it. Xiao just have to make me the indian soloist as he believed that I'm the most Indian-ish among the rest =.=||| It's darn stressful when you know that you're on national TV. Love the catchy tunes, despite not being able to make the words out of it.

Oh and we had live music playing at the same time. Shall not mention how agonising is it when the tempos go haywire and the counts are cut short. Well, being a dancer is all about improvising to cockups. Just like how Keone Madrid did it at Bodyrock 2009. *salutes*. Dancing in front of MM Lee is an honour despite being a Malaysian. I can see his eagerness to join us during the Tai Qi routine by me, Chii Tarng and Xiao Bai Yang. Lol. Wonder how Terence managed to get that name in the first place. Spent almost every second teasing him, especially Esther. Tsk tsk.

Speaking of MM, he may be old but he's still going strong. That man i see is no different from that 40 years ago, when he was fighting for Singapore's well-being during the merger of Msia-SG. Seeing him serving the country still (in a way) reminds me of how age can not be a barrier in whatever we wish to pursue or achieve. Like saying goes, age its just a number, don't let it cease you from achieving the impossible, aye.

To the least, leaving an impact on people's life is what I wanna do. Just keep that spirit burning, Tommy.

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
